The Monastery

Dhagpo Kundreul Ling's monastic hermitages are places for the practice, preservation and transmission of the Buddha's teaching.

They enable the Lamas, druplas, monks and nuns to develop their meditative experience and to safeguard the authenticity of the transmission that they have received for the benefit of present and future generations.

Purpose of the Monastic Hermitage ?

The monastic hermitages enable the community to remain united in order to preserve the authenticity of the spiritual transmission they have received, to keep it alive through constant practice and to transmit it for the benefit of all.

Life within the monastic hermitages at Le Bost and Laussedat is organised in keeping with the spirit of their founder, Gendun Rinpoche, and the structures that were set up by him. A charter in this same spirit was created by Gendun Rinpoche, Shamar Rinpoche and Jigme Rinpoche to act as a guide of conduct for the Dhagpo Kagyu Mandala's lamas and druplas.
